  • Energy Texas – Rates will vary from 17.2 to 24.5 cents per kWh. The website said customers could receive rewards that go towards bill credits and can choose between contracts of 12, 18, 24, and 36 months.
  • Amigo Energy – Rates may vary from 18.6 to 14.8 cents per kWh, according to the website. Customers can choose between 12, 24, 36 and 60-month plans. Each plan includes an option to reduce your carbon footprint for $9.99 a month.
  • IronHorse Power Services – The website said rates may vary from 23.2 to 22.5 cents per kWh. Plans include 12 and 18-month options.
  • Constellation Energy – Rates will vary from 19.5 to 20.5 cents per kWh. Some plans offer breakdown coverage of HVAC systems, gift cards, and bill credits.
  • Alliance Power – The website said rates vary from .0996 to .1701 cents per kWh. Customers can choose between one or two-year contracts as well as contracts with no specific end date.
  • Tara Energy – The website said rates range from 14.8 to 18.6 per kWh. Customers can choose from 12, 24, 26 and 60-month options. Certain plans offer bill credits based on monthly usage.
  • APGE – Rates may vary from 13.8 to 17.9 cents per kWh. The website said plans vary from 3, 12, 24 or 36-month contracts. Early termination fees vary from $150 to $350.
  • Southern Federal Power – Rates range from 15.1 to 15.3 cents per kWh, according to the website. Customers can choose between 12 or 24-month contracts and can start service the same day.
  • CleanSky Energy – The company’s energy rates range from 17.4 to 18.6 cents per kWh, according to the website. Contracts with the company can be 6, 12, or 24 months. Cancellation fees will cost more the longer your contract is.
  • Discount Power – Rates can range from 14.9 to 18.5 cents per kWh, according to the website. Customers can choose plans from 12, 24 and month to month.
  • Xoom Energy – Rates range from 17.5 to 18.5 cents per kWh, according to its website. Customers can choose from 12, 24 or 36-month contracts. The company offers locked-in rates for the period of the customer’s contract.
  • 4Change Energy – The website said rates vary from 13.5 -15.8 cents per kWh. Plans range from 12 to 24 months, with low to no cancellation fees and fixed energy charges.
  • BKV Energy – The website said rates may vary from 16.3 to 19.9 cents per kWh. Plans vary from 6, 12, 24, or 36-month contracts. The company’s cancellation fee is $20 a month for every month on the contract.
  • Ambit Energy – According to the website, rates can vary from 15.5 to 17.5 cents per kWh to 9.5 to 8.5 per kWh for an apartment, based on a 2000 kWh/month usage. Apartment residents can choose between a 6, 12 or 24-month plan while house residents can choose between 12, 24 and a flexible plan.
  • Direct Energy – The website said rates will vary from 18.9 to 19.9 cents per kWh. Based on the plan you choose, customers can receive free nights, free weekends, or free Amazon Prime for two years.
  • Chariot Energy – The company offers 17 to 18.9 cents per kWh and 16.9 to 17.2 cents per kWh with solar panels. Residents can earn up to 25 cents per kWh for the unused energy the panels produce. One non-solar panel option has a $90 bill credit.
  • TXU Energy – The company’s rates vary from 15.9 to 17 cents per kWh, according to the website. Each plan is a 12-month contract and includes a $50 welcome bonus. Some plans offer free nights, summer savings and seasonal savings.
  • Reliant – The company’s rates range from 14.9 to 19.2 cents per kWh, according to the website. Customers can choose between month-to-month, 12, or 24-month plans. Certain plans include two highest usage days a week free, bill credits, and lower prices after using 1,000 kWh.
  • Just Energy Texas – The website said rates can be from 14.8 to 18.6 cents per kWh. Plan options range from 12, 24, 26, and 60 months. Customers can also choose bill credits with the amount of usage each month, no base charges, and a clean energy option for $10 a month.
  • Think Energy – The website says its rates range from 13.9 to 16.8 cents per kWh. Customers can choose from 3, 12, and 36-month plans. By signing with certain plans, customers can receive a $100 gift card.
  • Octopus Energy – The website said rates range from 15.3 to 17 cents per kWh. The company offers 12-month plans with solar buyback.
  • Champion Energy Services – The website said rates vary from 14.3 to 16 cents per kWh. The company offers 4, 12 and 24-month contracts. Some plans offer discounted or free energy for certain times of the day.
  • Abundance Energy – For this company, energy rates per kWh may vary depending on your zip code and how much energy you use a month. The website shows that rates may decrease with more monthly energy usage. The company offers solar panel rates.
  • Frontier Utilities – Rates with the company vary from 13.4 to 22.7 cents per kWh. The website said some plans offer bill credits, rollover credits, and free smart thermostats. Customers can choose from 12, 24, and month-to-month.
  • Gexa Energy – The website said rates may vary from 10.5 to 19.9 cents per kWh. Some plans offer bill credits, rollover credits, and free smart thermostats. Customers can choose from 12, 24, and month-to-month.
  • Green Mountain Energy – Rates can vary from 14.9 to 18.8 cents per kWh, according to the website. Solar buyback plans help customers earn credits with excess energy. Plans include 12, 24, 36, and month-to-month.

Setting Up Your Trash, Water, and Other Lubbock Utilities

Your other Lubbock utilities are still handled by the city and billed through the City of Lubbock Utilities portal. This includes water, stormwater, wastewater, and solid waste.

To set all of these up, you can call the City of Lubbock utilities department at (806) 775-2509 and provide them with your new address. You will be given an account number that can be provided as proof that utilities have been set up.

Trash collection in Lubbock takes place on either Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday, depending on which area of the city you live in.
